🔌 What is the SP Services Turn-On Test?
The SP Turn-On Test is a mandatory electrical safety check conducted by SP Group before they activate power to your premises.
It applies to:
- New BTO flats or condo units
- Renovated HDB or landed properties with rewiring
- Units disconnected for 6+ months
- Commercial spaces changing tenancy
⚠️ Why It’s Important
This test ensures your internal wiring, DB box, RCCB, and other protective devices are safe to energise. If any issue is detected — such as poor insulation or improper wiring — SP will refuse to activate the electricity supply.
🧪 What Happens During the Test
- A **Licensed Electrical Worker (LEW)** submits a Certificate of Compliance (COC) to SP Services.
2. SP’s technician visits your site and checks the electrical distribution board.
3. They verify the correct RCCB installation, MCB configuration, and wiring integrity.
4. If everything checks out, power is switched on at the SP meter.
